Backup childcare as an employee benefit
Working parents are pulled in many directions. The needs of family and the needs of your employer often come into conflict. That's why having an employer who provides backup childcare as one of your benefits is so valuable.
Employees call for backup childcare for many reasons:
- During school vacations
- When their child is a little bit under the weather and the employee needs to get to the office
- When employees have to work late, on weekends, or overnight on business trips
- When their nanny quits unexpectedly
How it works
When to call
- Parents in a Pinch provides in-home care for both healthy and mildly ill children. You may call for backup care during school vacations, when daycare is closed, your nanny goes on vacation or quits unexpectedly, weekends and evenings when employees must work late or anytime there is a gap in regular childcare arrangements.
- Childcare is available day or evening, seven days/week.
Arranging childcare
- Call Parents in a Pinch at 800-688-4697 to request care during office hours.
- Identify yourself and your company
- Parents in a Pinch will identify a caregiver for you; the caregiver will also contact you to finalize the arrangements.
- When the caregiver arrives, sign an authorization and release form.
- You will either pay the caregiver at the end of the day or your credit card will be billed once care is received.
Paying for childcare
Rates vary by location. In most cases, employees pay an hourly fee between
$12.00 and $18.00 per hour (with a four-hour minimum charge). Some
companies offer reimbursement for all or part of the fee paid.
